    DVD-Audio problems

    RDV-1060
    RSP-1066
    RMB-1075

Does anyone know of DVD-A issues with the 1060?
I tried to play Led Zep (How The West Was Won) and The Corrs but I cannot seem to get either sound or picture.

The 1060 is connected to the 1066 with both analogue multi inputs and the coaxial digital, and neither Video 1 (DVD) or MULTI source selectors will work.

I have noticed that the DVD player will detect that the disc is DVD-A because the light is activated on the 1060. The LED also shows that it is navigating to the title and the regular "play" triangle appears. Sometimes, if I keep pressing [play], the 1060 will detect MLP and a counter will appear - but it never goes past 1 sec.

This sounds like a DVD player issues, yes?

    Do this:

"Power On the unit. Off by remote unit and On again. Then open the door.

Press cursor down, up, right and left. Then you have the version display on TV monitor. Read the version number, issued date, region number and PIC IC version number. When accessing any other button, the display will disappear."

And tell my what version number you have. The last version I've seen is 2.12, but there may be newer versions out there. Most of the updates fixed issues with problem discs. While applying the update CD (if you can get it) can be done at home, I highly recommend sending it into Rotel. The 1060 is a bit picky on the update procedure and one small mis-step can break the unit even more!

I had a very similar problem and had to send my player back for repair. The firrmware was not update (v. 2.11) but a board was changed. It's been fine since, although I only own 2 DVDA's and don't even play those very often!

You have 1.23, you definately need the update. I would contact your dealer and find out the best procedure for getting it applied (whether the do it or send it in).

Let us know how it goes.
