Hi anyone have a quick rundown on the differences between the two receivers? Thanks!

The biggest difference is the torroid transformer and the extra power of the 1065.
1055 - 75w x 5 and 100w x 2 (or very close to it)
1065 - 100w x 5 and 120w x 2
Preamp sections are very similar. If you are in a small room w/ efficient speakers, the 1055 is great. In a bigger room and/or inefficient speakers the 1065 would be a better bet. Unless you need the extra muscle, they will sound very similar.
Since I assume these will be used, I would think price will be a factor here. Don't forget when they were new, you could buy the 1055 and an outboard amp like the 1075 and arguably better the 1065. It all depends what your needs are. If you want a one box solution and not have to worry about power in the future, the 1065 is the way to go. Both are great units and if you don't need the latest bells and whistles, you will not be disappointed with either.- Bottom

I has a 1055 for the past 3 years and I like ti a lot...
I now have it in the basement of the new house and good volume is around 55 (was 40 in the condo, living room was smaller...)...I do not plan on getting a outboard amp soon since it's quite enough for the momment...
only if I can put my gand on a used RB-985Bx for a good price... :B- - - - - - - - - -
