    More 2ch Questions

There seems to be a few people asking questions about trying to improve on the 2ch from their 1055/1056, so here is mine.

I presently am runnining a 1055/1080 combo which I am happy with but....

I do have a RA-980BX int amp, would the pre amp on this sound any better than the 2ch from my 1055? I know the obvious answer is to plug it in and listen but I am using it to bi-amp my centre channel as the pre amp is down on the left channel ( I don't think it is an expensive fix, I am pretty sure the stereo/mono switch is the culprit).

What has really prompted me into action is there is a Rotel RH-C10 selling at a local online auction for not much more than the possible cost of repair on my 980BX.

    So here are the options
1: Do nothing save more pennies
    2: Repair the RA-980BX
    3: Buy the RH-C10

FWIW my money is on #3, any other opinions out there?

newb, what you ask is so subjective. I initially went from a Yamaha ht reciever with carver power amps. When I tripped over Rotel and purchased my 1st piece being the RSP-980, the sound difference was amazing, bar nothing. I then went to the RSX-1055 for 5 channel, I felt it lacked 2 channel so I bought an RC-1070 to go with it, and it was better, just no wheres near the difference of going from Yamaha/ Carver to Rotel. I feel comfortable making a "major" change based on opinion, but, when it comes to "fine tuning" my system, I like to hear that in my enviroment versus opinions driving my descisions. Take this for what it is worth, and enjoy the ride, its a fun one.

      RSX-1055 vs RSP-1068 2 channel
      by soundhound
I am sure this has been a topic b-4 but here goes anyway. I started into Rotel w/ the RSP-980, RMB-1075 power amp. I moved "up" to an RSX-1055 for a pre-pro. I love the improved processing capabilities and sound of the surround channels w/ the 1055, but it doesnt hold a candle to the 980 for...

      Is CA5200 a flexible solution for 2ch/5ch audio/HT?
      by zele
I’m thinking about how to enter the high-end world of 2ch with an investment that is flexible towards 5ch audio and HT too. As far as the speaker is concerned I’m hesitating between 803D and 802D and I will decide based on their sound when I get both of them delivered for a demo to my house. It’s...

      RSX-1055 and center channel
      by asacam
I have a RSX-1055 that I use as a pre-amp and to power my center and rear surround speakers. I have Kef 104/2's that are powered by a conrad-johnson 200w/ch. amp. My center speaker is a Kef IQ6c. I also have a Martin Logan Grotto sub in the system. My problem is the quality of the sound in the center...

      2 channel Amps for a Rotel 1055
      by OnlyOne
I'd like to upgrade to 7.1 asap with my new 1055 and have decided instead of buying a 70wpc amp for the rear surrounds that I want to get a more powerful amp and use it to power my mains and redirect the onboard mains to the back.

I would love to get a Rotel 1070 to use in that regard...
