    RSX 1055 break in period?

Was hoping to get opinions from current owners as to how long they feel it took for their unit to break in.

Just auditioned this unit at my (only) local dealer. He literally just pulled it out of the box, as they had sold their floor unit. The salesguy stated that the unit will sound much better after it is broken in for a week or so.

I had a chance to watch a few scenes from We Were Soliders (before the center channel cut out), and also listen to a few tracks from my demo CDs. I have to say I wasn't terribly impressed with 2 channel stereo. This is in comparison to a NAD 762 at another dealer (same CD tracks) with different speakers. Granted this is apples to oranges, but I was expecting more.

My plan is to head back next week or weekend and listen to the same tracks. I'm hoping that there is a substantial difference, as I am otherwise in lust with this receiver.

    Any opinions appreciated.

yes i was feeling the same way with my 1055. the sound did change after a few weeks, but dont expect a huge difference!! for me it really depends on the source material. clasical and jazz sound GREAT...but others, there seems to be a little lacking. dont get me wrong the sound is great, very clear and sharp.

i have never auditioned an NAD, but from what others have told me, the sound is "warmer" compared to the rotel sound. so if you feel that the sound is too bright, then perhaps the NAD will be a better fit for you.

      Good answer here!...

it is true that Rotel products are great, but like anything else (food, wine, cars, décor, movies...) not everyone like the same things...

if to you, the NAD gerr sound better...then go for it!...don't buy something just because some people tells you that it is great...

Only your ears and your feeling will tell you what you like most!...

But I really like my RSX-1055!

I purchase the 1055 largely due to what I read here and a bad demo of a NAD T762. The NAD made some buzzing sound when the volume was changed .... a the 1055 just sounded good.

I'm setting up a HT room and will do a 6.1 or 7.1 setup. The odd shape of the room dictates more than 5.1....

NAD vs Rotel on my Klich RF5s?
        by Noddy
I have had a Nad t773 at home on trial for a week and coming from Yamaha/ Denon ownership i now understand what all the hype is about with regards to big stable power supply. My Klipsch rf5's have never sound so good.

I then had a audition of these same speakers driven by Rotel 1056+1060...

RSX 1055: sudden sound problems when turning on the unit
        by sirbogey
Has anybody come across this? I've had the RSX1055 for 4y plus, running without any glitch. 1 Month ago, I hooked up the DVD with a 12V trigger cable. Don't know if this relates to my problem or not.

Last week, suddenly, when I turned the Rotel on (before turning on anything else), it...

        RSX 1055: convince me

Ok all - I am on the fence b/w NAD T762 and Rotel RSX 1055. I have both in house until Wednesday for comparison.

During initial auditions, I've found the NAD to have a slightly larger soundstage and to be a bit warmer. Certain tracks and CDs are noticeably different b/w the two receivers....
