    RSP-1066 DVD Sound Problems! HELP!

HI, I'm new to these boards but wondered if you could spare a little help.

I've had my RSP-1066 / RMB-1075 combo for a while now and something weird has started to happen:

In music via Analog or Digital Inputs the sound is as fantastic as ever but on any movies when there is speech the sound is muffled and you can bearly hear what they are saying. Also I have to really crank it up to be able to hear anything (Like 70 - 75) which is not noraml seeing as I used to watch films about 55.

P.S. the Center channel does work.

I have tried connecting the dvd player using normal analog L/R connections.

I have also tried another dvd player, whilst making the situation a little better it's still not normal.

Any one have any suggestions, I have already ripped it all out and re-wired.

    Many thanks,

    Gary.

Could you have the dynamic range limiter activated? This is a feature in which output (mainly sub I believe) is limited for nighttime viewing so as to not disturb others. Have you tried plugging the center channel output from the 1066 into another speaker input, such as L front, to verify the signal is clean from the 1066?

Is it the center speaker only or all the speakers. Maybe some how you defaulted everything and you need to set the output for your speakers all over again.

Here's my "new" DVD player, the Samsung DVD-HD1000.

This DVD player was really a surprise. I'd not heard of it, until accidentally finding one used on the net. Not knowing what it was, I went to the Samsung site to research it. What I saw was a beautiful player, that exuded...

Here's my "new" DVD player, the Samsung DVD-HD1000 40 pounds of joy. It's actually slightly used, but showed no real signs of it. New used, we'll call it.

How low of a Frequency can a dvd player output?
        by warnerwh
I've learned that movies have frequencies below 20hz but do our dvd players actually output those low frequencies? I'm curious because as far as specs go they don't say.

        Thank you

RSP1066 and Samsung STB Audio problems
        by mml7
        Hi,

I have a Samsung HDTV Set top box (SIR-T150) connected to my 1066 via a Coax cable and noticed the other day that the Samsung has two Audio output options: PCM and AC-3.

I have been using the the PCM option for a few months now without any problems. In this set up,...

        Update failure RSP1066
        by seoman
        Hello every body

Yesterday I updated my rsp 1066 with version 1.5.0.
Checksum was ok, and the new features were there.
Everything seems to be working fine.
But when I tried to watch a DVD there was no sound.
The RSP doesn't recognises AC3 or DTS anymore!...
