    Should I upgrade my Rotel amp?

    Hi,

    I am a new member here. I have a Rotel RB990 as my two channel amp for several years. I am thinking upgrading the amp to a Classe CA150. Is it a good move? Will I get a lot of improvement?

    My speaker is Energy Veritas 2.3. Any comment would be appreciated.

      I find the Energy Veritas 2.3 to be a great speaker, but a tad on the bright side. Rotel's voicing of their amps compliments the Veritas well. You may find the Classe a bit bright(er). If that suits your taste then it is an improvement.

          I did find Energy Veritas 2.3 speakers are a little on the bright side. Some people said that Classe amps are on the warm side. Most people gave Classe amps very good comments. Probably if someone has been using Classe amp with Energy Veritas speakers has a better idea.

              Why do you wanna switch to something other than Rotel? Are you not happy with it? I would really suggest upgrading to RB-1080 instead. However, I have never listen to a Classe, but yet, there is always something better out there....

                  I have been using the RB990 for about 10 years. It has done its job well but I think probably it's time for a upgrade. I have been thinking about RB1080 but not sure how much difference with my RB990. If the difference is not that much, I would just keep the amp or go for another amp (like Classe).
