    1075 vs ohms ???

    hi guys,

Well i was just wondering if you could educate me when using the 1075 amp?

Is the powering section of the 1075 on a mono block configuration? Will the 1075 still work well even if lets say the speakers being used would be the following:
    1) 8 ohm - front speaker
    2) 4 ohm - center speaker
    3) 6-8 ohm - surround speaker

i didnt indicate the watts coz it can be any! How would you think the 1075 handle a set of speakers like this. Will it cause problems? or will it not matter for the 1075 will be able to handle this with ease!!!!!

That won't be a problem as many of us run speakers that are rated differently. Also if you think about it ohms is a resistance rating that is directly tied to the frequency being played by the speaker. This means that the ohms the amp sees varies a great deal all the time depending on what's being played through the speakers attached to the amp. Now unless you're running a hypothetical 5 channel mono mode somehow the chance that all the speakers are playing back the same freq at the same time is virtually impossible which means amp's see fluctuating resistance all the time on each channel.

The 1075 is a fantastic power amplifier, the performance per dollar ratio is had to beat.

            RMB-1075 and 4 ohm speakers
            by resperc
I bought an RSP-1068 and an RMB-1075 in July and I am loving the sound. I am now out investigating my options in speaker upgrades. I heard the Polk LSi 9 bookshelf speaker and I was very impressed. Whenever and whatever I buy I will be getting the matching center and surrounds. The Lsi 9s are definitely...

            Measuring Resistance issues
            by ruseriousclark
Three 8 Ohm drivers in parallel should yield a resistance of 2.667 Ohms. However I just wired it up and threw on the meter and cannot get anything other than 3.4-5 Ohms as a reading.

Busted meter or is my math just that bad?

FYI... 3 M3N's wired in parallel

Bridging amps and 4 ohm loads
            by kgveteran
What is it about a 4 ohm load that gives the amp a hard time in bridged mode ?

What if the amp has enough power and the 4 ohm load really only goes from 100hz on up.

Is it that no matter what I do, the amp will be stressed out by this load ?

            This is my project...

Also I've read an interesting article:

            "If you hear something of
an "8 ohm amplifier", then we think usually of 8 ohm speakers.
