I'm now the proud owner of a Rotel RX 950AX receiver, and an RCD-970AX, bought on Ebay for a toal of $280...replaces a 20 year old Technics receiver and CD player. It used to be about the music, man, and now it is again! Hooked it up today, started in with Talking Heads, Dire Straits, Schubert's 9th...like being in the orchestra...

Ohhhh yeaaaaah! That 1098/1095 combo sure looks sweet to me, but my 1056/1080 will have to do (for now)!

              Welcome David!

                David,
Welcome to the club! This is quite a gathering of Rotel'o'holics.

                PewterTA,
I second your post whole heartedly. Couldn't have expressed the same any better

Thanks for the kind welcome...I had been looking at some more pricey components, but uncharacteristicly scaled down my equipment lust. (I am a carpenter/woodworker, with a bad tool habit) I wasn't sure about getting the 50 watt receiver, but it is plenty of power for me (for the moment at least!)

David Byrne Live at Union Chapel London DVD
                    by brendon
I stumbled over this DVD today and can recommend it for Talking Heads and David Byrne fans .
Filmed at the Union Chapel in London in 2003 it has good sound quality but on my PJ it was a bit soft as allmost all NTSC dvds I watch are.
It is well filmed by the BBC with a stack of cameras....

Welcome David to At the Movies
                    by Lex
Please welcome David Meek as the new moderator of At the Movies. I recognized that if this section is to be a success, it needed an active leader.

Jason just hasn't been around much lately, so I did what I thought was right, making this change.

                    Welcome David!

Do you need some up beat sax work? Checkout this David Sanborn
                    by John Holmes
                    Titled: Up Front

I own most a David Sanborn's work on album. None of which are what I would call "up beat". This cd is a nice change of pace from his usual mellow or as the industry would say "smooth' style of play.

The sound quality is imo, pretty standard...
