My friend recently purchased a new house and is swapping out the existing Home Theater gear with a new setup. He offered some of the old components to me. Included in this group are a couple of Rotel pieces - RC-972 and RSP-976.

I'm running a RSX-1056 (75W/channel) for 5.1 and have the option to use a RB-976 6-channel (60W/channel) amplifier in bridge mode for 3-channels at 150W/channel for the fronts and redirect the RSX-1056's front amps to drive speakers in another room with Zone 2 material. I am thinking about upgrading from my Rotel RSP 976 to the 1066 solely because I would like to have 6.1 versus 5.1 sound. Is it worth it or am I just buying in to the upgrade fever?
