    1066 and Zone 2 question

Something I haven't been able to discover through owner's manual or internet forums: I know that if Zone 2 is on, and the 1066 main power is turned off, Zone 2 remains active (the display shows "zone''.)
But what if all sources are turned off, including the souce to Zone 2; is Zone 2 still drawing current as if the 1066 is on?

If I understand you right you're asking if when Zone two is turned on but all the source components are off will the 1066 remain on? Yes I believe it will remain on until you turn off Zone 2

You could try putting your hand on it and check if it gets hotter when it's turned on fully than if only Zone 2 is on. If it does, I would guess only Zone 2 turned on uses less current.

Thanks, guys. It was my understanding that leaving Zone 2 engaged even when there was no source feeding it that the 1066 sort of went into a standby mode. But it did feel hot one day, and now that it's mentioned, that's probably why the 1066 was hot even though it was powered down. Moral: Don't leave Zone 2 active when you don't need it.

Tuesday night, we had a big storm and lost power. When I went down my basement the next morning. My 1066 was on, it was off. Why did this happen?

1066 Zone @ volume problems. Help
          by badger1
I am trying to use the volume control for zone 2 of my 1066 processor.
Here is my question. I currently have a remote transmitter (those little (RCA) pyramids). In my second zone (my garage) I had previously been able to just aim my "previous systems reciever" remote (a Denon 3805)...

I have the Rotel 1066 that I use for my HT and for zone 2 audio. The problem is when I play a cd it sounds horrible in my other rooms (zone 2)! But other cd's sound ok, as does, am/fm, and TV. I am thinking that it may just be because of the wider frequency range and increased bass on my cd's. On the...
