    1080 vs 1090 AMPs

    1080 vs 1090 for 803's in 22' x 20' x 8' room.

Read somewhere that 200 watts is sufficient for most listeners unless you what to blow your brains out. Now based on experience how different will the 1090 sound with its extra wattage given my configuration above?

How will this compare to two bi-amped Musical Fidelity A3.2cr 130 watt amps. 1080 vs A3.2

For a B&W N803 you should buy nothing less than a RB1090. To get the most out of these speakers you should get an amp that matches its performance. The number of watts are not the most important factor, but more important is its enormous transformers and the fact that its build as a two monoblocks in one chassis.

Its a lot more musical and better sounding than a 1080. I've tried both on B&W N804's and went for the 1090 without a doubt.

Sure, the 1080 has enough juice to power them, but its just a different amp. Even the 1070 can get sound of of the 803's.

So, if stereo music is your thing and if you want to go for Rotel, then the 1090 is the best option. There are also many other amps that are fine too. Parasound or bryston are good candidates too (although both are more expensive, except for bryston in canada).

This is my first full review of any product after approx. 15 or so years audiophilia behind, so it’s natural I want to share my impressions with audio fellows exactly over here on Htguide forum – IMO the most qualified place today to talk about B&W as consumer.
