    what does "bx" indicate?

    hi,

how is a bx unit different from the same number without that designation, for example, rcd 970, and rcd 970bx?

    thanks,

I think the "bx" means it's black instead of silver, but I could be wrong.

I can't be the colour, since it was mostly used in the older 8xx and 9xx series. These series were not available in silver, only in black.

Most of the time it is the updated version, ie the RA-840BX3 and RA-840BX4.

I am unsure if BX is an abbrev. for something.

I got this answer from Rotel:

If there was a regular unit and then another with BX then it would have some changes. With the RCD-970BX there was only the BX version. Most of the BX equipment was just printed with BX on the title to match with other product at the time that had it.

          RCC-1055, RCD-1072, RCD-02 and RCD-06 - what the difference?
          by audiojunky
Rotel seems to have quite a few CD player and I'm having a hard time understanding the difference between them.

Is there a difference between the RCC-1055 and the RCD-1072 (except for the fact that RCC is a 5 disk changer)? I mean is there a difference in quality?

          Rotel model numbers
          by JonJeffman
          Hi there,
I'm looking at upgrading my 2-ch stereo system and have heard nothing but good things about Rotel. I'm leaning towards used equipment as it fits my budget but have a few questions about the various model numbers I see floating about, but can't find too much info on them. If you can...

          Hi there...

I'm relatively new to this forum, but not to Rotel!!

The RSX-1055 is quite a machine!...I'm quite satisfied now...and you can seriously see the faulty DD tracks (like The Musketeer's vocals) and the ones that are perfect (LOTR and so man others)...

          RQ-970BX
          by alkaline6
I just purchased the RQ-970BX to hook up an older Oracle turnable to the RSP-1066. I am having so problems with a very audible hum. I have tried the following:
          - checking all connections
          - moving the amps
          - moving the power supply
          - disconnecting the turntable from the RQ-970BX...

          Hi all,

Been reading these forums for a while and just wanted to let everyone know the advice in here is fantastic. Enough sucking up on to the questions.

I was curious as to how people thought the 985 and 991 stacked up against the 1075 and the 1080. I realise there have...
