    1098 Updating Instructions

So i dont want to fall victim i must ask, After updating the eprom 1-4
do i shut the 1098 down and restart and then update the software?
or can i immediatly update the software?

and after its all done i use the menu to set factory defaults then power down, toggle the power switch to off... then back on power up and reset all my settings?

oh yeah i gotta go out to the garage and drag a damn ps2 keybord out
i could not get a usb keybord to work with that program.

You do not need to shut the system down and power it back up after you install the eproms. At least I didn't and had no problems.

Once you do a factory default values reset, it will automatically power cycle itself. Once that's done you can put all your values back in (I took a picture of all my settings on my digital camera so I could easily put the settings back). However I will caution you, I had to recalibrate the speakers because my settings were off afterwards.

That should be all there is to it.

The power at my house failed twice in about 30 seconds. The total outage was only 40 seconds or so. The first outage was only 5 seconds, then the power was on for about 15 seconds, then it went out for about 30 seconds. When...

      Hi,
      I have a DSP-1098, what a wonderful piece of gear !

I do have an issue and I am interested to hear if anyone else has suffered this problem.
We had a power cut recently and my 1098 lost all the personal settings and resorted back to the factory defaults.
      I have...

Loss of RSX-1055 settings with power outage

After a power outage which settings are likely to be lost and which ones are retained? Does the "User Settings" feature retain all this after a power outage or is some/most of it lost? Any alternatives other than an uninterruptable power supply?

I prefer to have Firefox associated with my keyboard's "web button", as well as use the click feature of my scroll wheel on my mouse to be the "back" function to return to the previous web page. I had some work done to my computer (changed a CD-RW dirve), and now I have to go into...
