I just re-purchased one of these babies for the bedroom, I had one a while ago and sold it but kind of liked it so I got another. I don't care about upscaling/universal capabilities, the RDV 1040 represented a well-built machine with a decent warranty and feature set. It is actually one of the only 10 pound DVD players I could find, I just couldn't bear to buy a 4 pound featherweight like a Sony or Pioneer. Curious to know who else owns one of these and how you feel the picture quality ranks among other offerings at a similar price piont. Particularly the Marantz 4500 which was my second choice. Thanks for all input.
