I've decided to leave Rotel :(

Given that we have a new baby on the way it seems its becoming a little had to justify a rack full of expensive Rotel gear so my wife and I talked it over and I think I'm going to have to sell all my Rotel toys and buy something really cheap to give me my fix until we can afford something better. Of course that'll likely mean I'll have to step down as moderator as well

You can alway buy new stuff later, and new stuff is fun, Family is first priority.

Seriously though, selling everything is not the best solution - remember the secondhand value is always very dissapointing, especially if you feel underpressure to sell, and you will only make the buyer happy. You have some quality kit, don't sell it for a song.

If whats bought is paid for, leave it where it is, and look for ways to reduce your monthly expenditure - ongoing costs are the things you need to worry about, not things that are paid for. Besides, your kids undoubtably get value from your home cinema too.

I only just joined this forum, and I was totally bummed by that news! 8O Being someone new I hooked onto Andrew's advice right away. He is very honest and sincere - something you don't see a lot of these days. Also very knowledgeable.

Similiar to "kens1", even though I don't post that often yet, I have read, many, many posts from Andrew and was in astonishment, until I saw it was a joke. I was really glad to see that. Even though I sometimes feel alone in the speaker world, it feels like everyone else has Rotel paired with B&W's, and I stand alone with my Triangle collection. Even when I recently demoed my most recent addition at Stereo Exchange in NYC, they only paired everything with B&W. I wonder why the connection is so common, with all the hundreds of other brands of speakers.

Anyway, it reminded me of the worst April fools day ever when my boss brought me and a coworker into a room and said, "...because of cutbacks I'm going to have to let both of you go..." She saw both our reactions and let the truth come out right away.

Oh Andrew! What a poor joke! You had me really disappointed when I read that, and I was in disbelief. I thought, not Andrew! His so devoted to Rotel, there is no possible way. I'm very glad it's just a joke, a poor joke because I didn't find it funny even for April Fools with all the help you provide, your politeness, honesty, and keeping the Rotel forum a fun place for us.
