    1056 and 1080?

Hi, I am very new to Rotel and have a basic question about adding the 1080 2 channel amp to my 1056 reciever.
Although the 1056 sounds very good in 2 channel for music (way better than my old receiver/s) I know there can always be room for improvement.
Does anyone already have this set up and how much difference in sound is there compared to just using the 1056?
I really want to make the most of my music with the 1056 but want to know if adding the 1080 is worth it?
Any help or advice would be appreciated.

A certain performance leap can be expected (more headroom / control, especially in the lower frequency regions). However this also depends on the speakers you're currently powering...
The 1080 on the other hand is a very impressive machine indeed and will be able to power a large amount of (future ) speakers. There are people on this forum using it to power speakers all the way up to the established B&W Nautilus range.

    Good luck and enjoy!

You're not going to believe how much more open and controlled the sound will be with that amp powering your speakers. Its a great investment for the future as well.

I currently have the 1055 & 1080 combination. I was running the 1055 on its own for a long time and then upgraded to Dynaudio Audience 72 speakers. The efficiency was down a fair bit on the speakers they replaced so i decided to add the power amp.

Well, it was a big difference. To use an analogy, it was like my car headlights were previously on, but with the 1080, now they were focused on the road.

Another big difference was that it seemed to allow the rear channels to open up as well. Maybe allowing more current for the other channels, now that the fronts were not being used.

          Highly recommend the 1080.

            RSX-1056 with RB-1080 . . .

Hi everyone. I am so glad that I found this board . . . it looks like it will provide lots of great information.

I'm considering upgrading my system from 2 channel to a 5.1 system. I currently have an RB-1080 powering my Paradigm Studio 80's. I do have some budget considerations and...

Adding An Equalizer to My Rotel System
            by frank1203
Whats the easier way for a novice like me to set up / add an equalizer to my system? I have the RSX-1056 Receiver and the RMB-1075 Amp. I am bi-amping 2 front Paradigm Studio 100's to the 1075 and powering the CC-570 Center speaker. The 1056 is powering the two rears. Mostly everything is wired using...

            RB-1080 as an upgrade...?
            by weijst
            Hi all,

I'm driving my B&W 705s (and HTM7) with the rare combination 1068/1075 . However, ever since I bought my Rotel gear I've been fascinated by the RB-1080 (or the RB-1090 for that matter, but that's beyond my budget).

Now I'm thinking about investing in a better...

            Rotel RB-1080 + Rotel 1056 + B&W 602s3's?
            by shah
I just got myself to get a Rotel 1056 receiver. Stepped up from a Yamaha RX-V750 receiver. Heard a Big jump in sound quality. What do you think? Anyway.. I have a couple of questions about adding a 2 channel amp to my Rotel 1056. I had originally thought about adding a Rotel RB-1070 but reading...

Adding an RB-1080 to RSX-1056 for stereo only
            by fordster
I'm thinking of adding an RB-1080 to my setup and using this to drive a pair of speakers exclusively for stereo. The RSX-1056 will still power my existing 5.1 speaker system.

How do I connect the RB-1080 up to the RSX-1056 to enable this? I've had a quick scan of the manual for the...
