I've read in many sites that the RA 1062 integrated amp and the 1072 CD player are built so they are in effect, a mated set. Provides dynamic range etc. My question, because I'd be using the 1060 as a pre, as a point of comparison, how do you think the RC 1090 (or 1070) pre performs with the 1072 vice the intregrated? Can anyone comment on the difference between the preamp section of RA-1062 (Integrated amp) versus RC-1070 (stereo pre-amp). I would think the RC-1070 to be better in performance when mated with a standalone amp instead of using the pre-outs of the RA-1062 and hooking... -

Last year we bought a RA-1062 integrated amplifier after comparing it (blind A/B) to a RC-1070/RB-1072 combo. We heard no difference with the B&W 804S speakers.
We heard now, that this might have had two reasons:
