I have been lurking on audioreview a great deal b/c I am in the market for a CDP and new main speakers.
I have fully enjoyed my Rotel gear and the information that I have been able to absord here over the last few months.
Now I am the tweaking phase, upgrading source gear, and awaiting my Cat order from Lex

For a CDP look at the Rotel 1070 or wait a couple of months for the 1072 to come out. I'm going to get one of these two in a bit.

1070 is top on my list, also considering a s/h 991 but the asking prices are close to a new 1070

Question: Why do we invest in a quality pre/proc, ie 1066, 1098, and then also purchase a top notch CDP and utilitize the DACs in the CDP over the say the 1066? Is it all about the source?
Currently my DVD player is running double duty, so I am using the 1066 DACs through the coax connections.
I really hoping to hear a difference with a 1070 or 1072

I just happened to stumble into the forum. I really liked how everyone was friendly and respectful of everyone else. I also like how people actually back up what they say with what they've experienced.

I hope to one day be an official member of Club Rotel. I just hope that the speakers I end up with are a great match with Rotel. So far, what I've seen in another thread (all the different speakers matched with Rotel) indicates that I should have no problem. Woo hoo!!!
