Getting only two channels with SACD with my RSX 1056

    Hi all,

I am a new Rotel user and new to multichannel music.

    My configuration:

    Rotel RSX-1056
    Pioneer DV 578 Universal PLayer
    B&W Sig SCM1s Front
    B&W CMC Center
B&W CWM 800 In Wall Sorounds
    REL Strata III Sub

Only the fronts seem to be playing. I have rechecked all connections and settings. I am using the Multi Input.

    What am I missing.

Thanks for the knowledge and help.

What disc(s) have you tried? Only multichannel discs will play in multichannel. Plus you may have to enable or select the multichannel track on your player.

go into the menu on the 578. On the sacd menu you can set it for 2.1 or 5.1, change it to 5.1

Thanks. I did change the settings to 5:1 on the player. I am using the following SACS's:

        Yo Yo Ma Solo
        Pink Floyd
        O'Brother Where art thou
        Telarc 1812

Still tumped. Thanks for the help.

Try configuring the speakers in the dvd players setup menu, you can choose large/small or none, night be set to off there.

also check levels there if available to establish that the dvd is outputting all channels.

Forgive me if my suggestion is too elementary. But have you switched the 1056 to the multichannel outputs? Is it possible that you've left the receiver in digital mode? On hyrbrid disks, you'd still be hearing music, in two channels, but not the hi def version
