Help needed with 12v trigger and RB-1080

    Hello,
    I've bought a RB-1080 to assist my RSX-1056.
    Now I have 2 questions:
    - How do I get my 12v trigger to work ? I've switched the button on the RB-1080 but think I need to assign it in the receiver. I do find the menu's to assign 12 triggers to CD players etc. but not a specific one for a power amp.
    - Although the overall sound really improved I'm hearing some "crisps" when I'm turning the volume up and down quickly and also a noise though my tweeters on higher volume....

    Can anyone help ???

    Thanks !

You have found where you need to set it in the input menu. They show the triggers numerically there as they are numbered on the back of the reciever. This works well for if when you listen to a cd you have a 2 channel amp connected to your'e main speakers, you only need to turn the trigger for that amp on (trigger 1 or 2). When listening to (watching) something in 5.1 with multiple amps, you can assign those to turn on trigger 1 and 2 to run a couple of amps. By assigning them to inputs we get some great flexibility from our Rotel toys. Bob

Where is your'e contour (tone) set at? What kind of speaks do you run? What type of patch cords are you using between components? Many things can attribute to the noise in your'e tweeters, as well as magnify your'e volume control chirping, these may go hand in hand. You can go into the menu and change the speed at wich the volume goes up or down, experiment a little and see if you can find differences. Just some food for thought.

So the sounds only happen when you are adjusting the volume? Does it matter what input is selected (Optical/Coax/analog) and/or what you have selected (CD/Tuner/Video1/2/3/4)? Does it also happen when Muted?

OT: Soundhound, good choice on Avatars, SRV was the MAN. LOVE his music!

That sounds more like a problem than a setting error.

A couple of simple RSP-1098 Setup Questions
                by whmacs
                Hi All,
In preperation for my RSP-1098 arriving next week, I was reading the manual and have a couple of basic setup questions:

                1. I currently use a 12v trigger on my Onkyo to turn on power to my two Rotel power amps. This happens when I power on the Onkyo from Standby mode. Looking...

                RSP 1098 12v trigger problem
                by Henk
I use two 12v triggers on my RSP 1098, one triggers a RLC-1050 power distributor (which in turn powers on a RB-1090) while the other triggers a RMB-1075. Everything worked fine until a few weeks ago when the RSP 1098 started to interrupt the 12v trigger to both components at random after power on. When...

                12v trigger question
                by benjamj
I know there have been several threads on 12v trigger issues, so I hope you will indulge me. I have an Onkyo receiver with pre-outs and 12v triggers for 2 additional zones. I am using an old 5-channel receiver to power those 2 zones, and have dedicated 2 channels per zone. The old received lacks a 12v...
