Do any preamps let you decode sacd in more than stereo through the optical connector? I was at one dealer and he said that they needed to be connected for each channel using the RCA connectors.

That's correct, currently the Pioneer Ilnk interface is the only interface that can transfer SACD digitally. -

Thanks - I'm playing catch up on multichannel audio.
It looks like HDMI is analog and firewire is for digital - since the rca connectors that are currently being used are analog, is there a reason HDMI isn't an option?
The pioneer Ilnk - is that specific to their equipment or have they licensed it?
Are their any products in the Denon line that have the new support?
I don't know anything about DVD-A - would that just use the same optical connection as the one for DVD movies?
Lastly - what about a converter - are there any preamps that can currently convert the sacd digital out from the player?

New press release just came out. FINALLY! :banana: I know a couple of our club members here have been waiting for this one for a while.

Really digging my new toy, the 15” Viewsonic Airpanel very nicely displays DVD Lobby, and with a few modifications I now have complete automation of my entire HT system via RS232 (for all DVD controls and movie selection) and IR for all other System macros from a remote blaster (USBUIRT).

Hi, I'd like to know if anybody has some news about a new HDMI 1.3 compatible Rotel sound processor.
After having built a good sacd library, I've recently moved to Blu-Ray and I'd like to upgrade my (still good) RSP-1066 to decode:
- SACD via HDMI (actually is via analog 5.1 input)... -
Just bought an Outlaw 990 Preamp. It does NOT decode the two latest codecs. I am going to use the 7.1 Analog Ouputs on a BluRay player. Which player would be best for this. My current player only has 5.1 outputs.
