My rsx1056 only has the 1.1.4 firmware.Do i or should i leave it as it is.If i upgrade to whatever firmware is available how would it benefit me.Just so everyone knows i dont get any HISSING or SNAPPING from my spkrs on the rsx1056 as others have said that they do.Would appreciate the advice.

Since it costs nothing to upgrade I'd suggest you consider upgrading it. The newer code does give you some nice new features and is easy to do.

Here's a list of the changes that were made since 1.1.4. Most of them aren't that important for most people but remembering the last used surround mode is nice and the progressive bug was a common complaint.

        V1.1.4 to V1.1.5
        - Adjusted the output levels in Dolby 3 Stereo mode

        V1.1.5 to V1.1.7
        - Corrected a discrepancy between the front display and the OSD when
displaying the Dolby Digital 2CH mode.
        - Corrected the Dolby Digital EX flag indication when using RS232.
        - Changed the default surround mode method to remember the last used
surround mode by disc type - i.e. separate default modes now available for
Dolby Digital and DTS. The exceptions to this are auto-detected surround
modes such as DD EX and DTS ES discs.
        - Corrected a bug causing no progressive video passthrough on initial powerup
when OSD is set to off.
