No sound sent to VCR via RSP-1068

    G'day,

I'm trying to record the output of my set-top box to my VCR, but I'm not getting any sound. I get the video, but not the audio.

The audio output of the set-top box is connected to the RSP-1068 using an optical cable. The VCR gets audio via analog output from the RSP-1068.

When I set the recording source to CD, this gets recorded on the VCR. But when I set the recording source to the STB, no sound is recorded.

Is it impossible to record (via analog output) a digital input? Is there any way around this, so that I can record the video and audio output of my STB?

Does your'e STB have analog lines out? The 1068 has audio "in" jacks for most if not all of its video sources. It does not convert digital in to analog out other than maybe the tape loop, but that is fixed gain (volume).

Tape loop / record-out source select
      by Bob_Collins
Ok guys, I have a question to pose. Are there any Home Theater receivers or processors out that include the venerable, old “tape loop” function? I’m referring to the ability on older stereo equipment to select a source for recording out to the tape outputs, but still allow you to choose to listen...

      Firewire, HTPC's and STB's
      by aud19
The thought came to me earlier today....

I seem to remember hearing a while back that by law (in the US) STB's had to be available with firewire (and/or possibly DVI..?) to cable/satellite subsribers who asked for it, sometime this year, for the ability to record to DVHS decks. Is there...

      Reccomendations on VCR's
      by toychris
I was wondering if any of you could give me a good reccomendation on a VCR. Is there any VCR's with component outputs that are reasonably priced? I am guessing that VCR's Video output is relatively low anyway, so s-video outputs would give about the highest quality of picture, right? I know that JVC...

Suggestion on DVD recorder/ VCR combo
      by hhcan
I am looking for a good decent DVD recorder + VCR combo. I need this unit to record my old VHS tapes. I don't want a recorder that I have to create title every time there is blank space on the tape such as the Panasonic combo. In short, I want to just press a button or two and wait until it's done....
