My first attemp on software update on the rsx 1056. I unscrew the plate and put the two dip switch to On. Connected the rotel to my laptop running XP. Use hypertermial, create the connection as instructed. Power up the rotel and I don't get the "download setup" prompt. Instead i get the text of whatever the label is on the front display. Supposely there should not be anything display on the front panel but there is? What am i doing wrong?

nevermind, I figure it out. I had to unplug the power cord, switch the dip and plug back the power -

Press and hold the mute button on the remote. The unit will display it's version.Comment

The latest on the rotel website is 1.1.7. Guess you got lucky and got a later firmware. Hope they update their website w/ the 1.1.9V though there isn't any problem with my 1056. Its been working great since I got it for xmas.Comment

I just got my 1056 late last week. I really like it so far. I had the Pioneer Elite 56TXi before buying the 1056 and have no regrets. I was wondering when I first got it if I had to update my software to the newest but it already has the 1.1.9 software installed. Rotel only shows up to 1.1.7. Very nice... -
