    1068 crash...

This afternoon I switched some cables around...afterwards,while listening to music I went to turn up the volume and everything went off.The 1068 went completely blank. It would not turn on or power up at all. After standing there dumbfounded for a while,I unplugged it and it powered up again.Everything now appears to be working ok...but,I lost all my settings.I now must go about renaming inputs, levels ect.Has this happened to anyone else out there?
I'm hoping its a one time event.

    Oops,

Did you not have the 1068 turned off when you moved the cables :E ?

If you didn't have it completely powered down, then you are lucky that's all that happened!

My 1056 locked up while in standby mode yesterday.

We later discovered via a flashing clock elsewhere that we must have had some kind of power spike/dip/etc... (most clocks didn't reset so no outright power loss)

Flipped the power switch off and back on and all was good (settings still in tact)

It sounds like you had a power problem and did not even realize it. This is very common actually and the newer Rotel product seem to have sensitive protection circuitry. Stinks that you lost your settings but be glad that is all that happened.

You actually need to save your personal settings via the Default Menu and set the user default.

Sorry that you lost your settings, I know that is a bummer.

Even though I save my user default settings via the menu, I still record my settings, just in case.

          Hope this helps,

          Azeke

[This is a long post, but it may be helpful to others that may have to deal with similar problems....]

I upgraded from a Denon AVR-2700 receiver to the Outlaw Audio 755 amplifier+Rotel RSP-1068 in that order, in two steps, about 6 months apart. When the Outlaw amplifer showed up with...

Questions about power indicators/LEDs on 1068 and 1075
            by tennberg
            Hi everyone,

I have two questions about newly purchased 1068 and 1075 for my HT system.

            1. When I turn off the 1075 amp, the red LED turns off. Then, all 5 protection fault lights come on at the same time for a second, then shut down in unison. Is this normal? I could not...

Yesterday I purchased my brand new RSP-1068 I am currently surrounded by wires, cables, manuals etc hoping to soon have everything up and running. I caved and got a 1068--help with SQ

Well, I was hoping to hold out longer but I couldnt resist when a local acquaintence offered the 1068 to me to replace my HK230 serving as pre/pro. Unit is absolute mint. I hooked it up the past weekend and have an issue with the sound quality.

The good: Upon substituting the 1068,...

            Not sure what happened...

It's just a minor issue I experienced with the RSP-1068. ops:

When I first got the rsp 1068 a few weeks ago, when I put it in 'standby' mode, it still stayed warm, like I never turned it off. So I switched it off at the back switch. Also when I turned it on, I hear a sound similar...
