    RSX 1055 newbie question

    Hey All!

Thanks in advance for taking time to read this... I've recently picked up a used RSX 1055 for a reasonable price and am going through the process of configuring it to my room and taste. My current setup includes a low/mid grade Sony DVD player with an optical hookup. (I currently am saving to purchase a decent CD player as the last one gave up the ghost after 13+ years!)

To explain how green I am here, I am trying to figure out if there is a pre-set line level for this channel I'm connected to as the Reciever flashes something along the lines of 48khz across its screen each time I put a new DVD in it. Is this an adjustable setting? What level is this notifiying me of? I scoured the owners man. and couldn't find anything about it. Any insight to this would be greatly appreciated!

48khz is the sampling rate that DVD's run at. It's FYI, and not changeable (or needed to be changed).. If you hook up cable/DSS digitally, they should be 48khz also.. A CD connected digitally would most likely by 44.1khz, etc... It's a standard for the media, and the display is just for information.

      Hi,

I am a newbie and have just started building my setup from scratch.
I was going to buy a Denon-2803 receiver, when I read about Rotel.
I am completely sold on Rotel now. But now I am in a dilemma as to
      which set up to buy.

      1) RSX-1055 receiver OR...

      1. I understand there are both black and silver finishes - is there any extra charge for the silver?
      2. Is there an A/B speaker switch? I'd like to use this for a home theater + 2 outdoor...

      Bi-amping with RSX-1055 and RMB-1075
      by 4_everyman
I want to use an RMB-1075 in a bi-amp configuration to drive my center front and center back speakers. The speakers are Polk CSi40s and they have two sets of terminals, so they are bi-amp/bi-wire capable. My receiver is an RSX-1055.

The RSX-1055 has two center channel pre-amp outputs...
