Since adding a RMB 1095 to my system,I have had the buzz.I know that all amps give off a little something and that nothing is completely quiet. But my buzz seemed to be louder at times thereby more noticable and annoying.I have tried seperating power cables from interconnects,I use high grade, sheilded interconnects, everything is run thru a Monster 5100 and my cable box is on the side run thru a Monster 3500.The 5100,1095 and 1068 are on a dedicated line.Despite all this, last night while watching a movie the buzz was very much there during low passages. It is particular bothersome when it comes thru the surrounds. :M And I can hear it all from listening position without looking..listening for it.
Now for the good news...I had read elsewhere on this forum about grounding the 1095 to the 1068[have not been able to locate thread].
Well anyway...it worked :T.This morning I simply took a piece of 14ga.speaker wire and added some connectors, screwed them to the back of both units and prestO,changO...surrounds, NO HUM!!!center, ALMOST NO HUM!!There was a little decrease buzz in the mains...but it took away 99% from the surrounds and 75% from the center. Not truly believing...I took ground away...and there was the buzz again.I reconnected and away it went.My question is this :why so little affect on the mains??The 5 speakers are all run by the 1095...a 1070 powers the rears.I have used different screws on the 1095 housing. Some have no effect, others the same result...no effect on mains.I could live with how things are now...buzz is heard about 3 feet from mains.Whoever made suggestion on other thread...thanks :T
