Been doing a lot of research but now i'm stuck. At the dealer, I got offered the 1056 or the 1065 (the 1065 was offered at about $200 more). I can't figure this out on my own, so I'm looking for some opinions. I listen to music, but watch movies too. I do not think I will ever 7.1, but would like the ability to handle SACD or DVD-audio (can the 1065 do this?). Any advice/opinions would be great. My speakers would be B&W 804s. Thanks from a newbie

Considering the speakers you own you're going to need all the power you can get to really make them sing. The 1065 does have a little more power then the 1056 but its older and lacks the processing features the newer 1056 offers. My advice to you would be to get the 1056 now and then add a seperate power amp to really open up those 804's. If the budget is tight we can suggest something from the used market when you're ready but for the time being I'd suggest staying with the current model due to the expanded feature set (esp. the much improved bass management and video upconversion etc).- Bottom

by RayHello,
I'm a new member and will start by thanking you all for all the information you already gave me via all the previous threads. I'm willing to buy speakers for a 5.1 setup. I choose B&W because I like the clear sound image it produces. I'm thinking of the following speakers:

by corysmith01The title pretty much says it all. I'm searching the used market and want to make my first Rotel purchase. There's no way I can afford a new model, so the 1057 is out. But, I do see both the 1056 and the 1055 pop up frequently. Actually, my local dealer has dealer demos of both, separated by about $100....-

Like the RSP-1066/RSX-1055 the RSX-1065 also has some point that need to be enhanced or fixed.
The RSX-1065 has some flaws in decoding the sound format.
1) There seemes to be no difference in normal DD5.1 and DD5.1 EX sound. With both formats the RSX-1065 uses the CB speakers....-
