    Subwoofer output with Rotel gear

I have a 1067 and I can't seem to get decent LFE output through my sub. I have set sub to max and am using the sub1 pre-out of the 1067. My sub is a REL strata III and I get great output throught the line-level connection for 2 channel music. Should I use an interconnect which takes the sub1 and sub2 pre-outs and combines them via RCA to the LFE input of the sub?

    Thanks

Try changing your speaker to small and see if it sounds any better.

One thing that comes to mind, you have your speakers set to small and your crossover set to ~80hz?

Do you have Avia or the like to test to make sure you have all your settings are correct? It sounds like something isn't set up right if you aren't getting anything to the sub. With the two channel stereo...that almost makes me think you have the speaker lines running through the High Filter on the sub?!

I did try small and it really didn't make a difference.

        Thanks

The REL has two separate inputs with individual volume controls, one for LFE (an RCA connection) and a line level neutrik cable (it's in parallel with the fronts, connected at the speaker binding posts of the 1067 for the front two speakers).

Clearify something, are you using the speaker outputs or the RCA outputs of the RSX 1067?

CMR, you don't want both hooked up at the same time... I think that could possibly be your problem. Only connect either the LP filter or the HP filter.

Typically, and I can't speak for all subs, but when you connect the speaker outputs (using speaker wire from your receiver to the sub) this will CUT out the LP filter (aka, all LFE).

What I would suggest is that you disconnect the HP (speaker connects) filter, and use only the LP filter (RCA CABLE). Then set up your receiver with all the speakers as small and I bet you will then gain the LFE you've been missing.

I know all sub "manuals" and people I've talked to tell you not to connect both at the same time.

                Hello,

I have a Rotel RSX 965, which has been serving me quite nicely for about the last 12 years. I decided to put some more life into it, so I bought an Oppo BDP 83. The oppo is connected to the rotel by an analog to DB25 cable, and I use the 5.1ch input mode to effectively just make...

                Issues regarding SSP-800 sub output

                Hi,

I’m posting this in HTGuide and AVS forum.

I have a Velodyne powered sub connected to my SSP-800 with XRL cable. When I press mute or when a digital input (HDMI/coax) is interrupted e.g. movie pause, transition between menu and movie, I get one or more thumps from...

Hello all, long time lurker first time poster. Great forum!
I have a question regarding Blu-ray HD codecs' LFE output level. I have a Sony BDP-S550 hooked up via analog outputs to a Marantz SR7001. The Marantz does not decode HD audio. Standard DTS and DD decoded through the Marantz bitstreamed...

                Hello,
I am new to this forum. I am an audiophile with some restrictions to my location - I live in Brooklyn so space is limited, hence the need for smaller Quad Bookshelf speakers and the need to use a Sunfire Subwoofer even though I normally never use Subs. That being said here's where things...

                Subwoofer settings with RSX-1067

Stumbled across this forum a couple of weeks ago after upgrading from a Denon 3802 to an RSX-1067. Thanks for creating such a fabulous resource on Rotel equipment. I've read through many of the past threads concerning the 1067 and subs but still have some questions.

                I have the RSX-1067,...
