Source switching with pronto on 1098

    Hello,

    I have a 1098 and I want to buy a new pronto.

What I want to know is; When switching source you should keep the button
V1, V2, etc. pressed for a few seconds. I know when you want this in a pronto you should also press the button for a longer period.

But how can I create a function like this in a macro on the pronto?
This I really want to know before purchasing a new pronto.

I've searched a few posts, but didn't find anything.

    Who has a solution???

Rotel has a ccf file at http://www.rotel.com/downloads/prontocodes.htm. You can convert it to pcf for the TSU 3000 and I believe the 7000.

I've done it. I am using it and do not have to add any delays.

      OK, Thanks... I'll try it....

So, if I understand correctly I can learn these buttons in a macro and they automaticly switch to the source (You don't need to keep the button pressed)??

I didn't try that, but I would suspect it would work. As I said, I used the ccf file from Rotel. I converted it to pcf for the TSU3000. It has been working pretty good.

Which model Pronto are you using?

I personally have done it and there is no need to keep the button pressed. Bear in mind that a short press of the V1, V2 etc buttons simply changes the mode of operation of the RR1050 (Rotel remote) it doesn't actually send any IR signal to the Rotel pre/pro. Only when you hold the button down does the remote send the IR signal and change the mode of operation of the remote. That is, the prolonged press is a function internal to the remote. If you send the same signal from the pronto that the 1050 sends when the button is held down the 1098 will repsond immediately and change inputs.

I custom program pronto's as a side business so if you get stuck just fire me an email and I'll get you sorted out pronto! As the guys mention above just import the CCF from the Rotel site and use their codes. The easiest way to do that is to simply alias to them. If you like I can email you my own CCF so you can see what I've done with mine.

Thanks Andrew, but I think I already have you're ccf :T

I found it in another post and I think that it's the correct one.

I'm not going to program my recent pronto, because I now that it's a lot of work when you want a nice layout. So I'll wait with programming untill I have a new one.. The only thing is that I haven't decided which remote I want to buy. My preference goes out to the Pronto TSU 7000.

Maybe someone can give me a price and a shop were to buy it, because here they cost a lot more then in the US?

Thanks for all the replies guys :T

I own an older Pronto, and to learn the inputs from my Rotel RSP-1066 all I did was hold down the button on the Rotel Remote and it automatically learn't the input commands without a need to set up any form of macro, borrow someone elses ccf file etc.
