    Hi guys,

Uncle Clive thought I should give you guys a shot at this.

Well if I go pre/pro I'm looking at the Rotels. Possibly even the 1055 then adding the amp later like I've said before. Would I notice a big difference in sound quality between the 1055 and 1066? Or should I even try to aim for the 1098 if it's within the budget.

Here I would throw this out to the guys over at "Club Rotel" to get some reaction

Anthem AVM20 is another possibility but may be out of my price range since I would still have to add an amp. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think these can be fetched for a little over $3000 US. Know of any shops carrying Anthem Clive?

I'm also considering getting a Pioneer Elite VSX-45TX then adding an amp later. I'm hoping some of you have had the pleasure of owning these before switching to Rotel. What are your thoughts? Fire away!!

The 1066 might sound slightly better then the 1055 but I notice any difference when I switched one for the other in my system. Other's have said the 1066 was slightly better though so let your ears be the judge. I'd say if you don't need the tuner and the prices are similar why not get the 1066...but listen to both first since if you don't hear the difference why pay more then you have to.

The 1098 is likely going to be in another league though...or at least it ought to be to justify the cost. At this point since no one's reviewed it its all speculation though.

    Good idea

You should be able to get a much better price then that on the Anthem on this side of the boarder. I'm not sure what that price would be but I could find out easy enough

    I'll only say this :nono:

My opinion is that the Anthem or the new Rotel will almost definitely be a step up from the 1066, but, as has been said, only you can decide whether the sonic and flexibility differences will be worth the extra cash out of your pocket. That said, the 1066 is a fantastic unit and, for my money, the sound is super. Besides, with the latest firmware upgrades, the Rotel has worked out most of its major kinks.

Myself, I'm pretty much decided that the next upgrade I'll be doing is speakers and I'd rather put that extra $1400-$1500 toward speakers.

        Just wondering guys if Rotel also makes a 7 channel amp. I don't think I've seen a 7 channel amp by Rotel. Would I need a a 5 channel amp + a 2 channel to run 7.1?

Yes, you'd need to get the two channel and five channel amps if you went with Rotel here.

            RSP-1066 or RSX-1055?
            by stkelly
I'm trying to figure out what to do with my system and was hoping to get some assistance from you pros. I've been slowly upgrading my system as I've gained funds. The next item that I'm looking to replace is my HK AVR510. Here's my question. Is there any difference in sound quality between a 1066 and...

            ROTEL 1066/1075 vs. 1055/1070
            by doodleboytoy
I am strongly considering Rotel for my new HT setup due to the numerous positive reviews I read about it. Currently, my plan is to run Paradigm Studio 60 fronts, Studio CC and Studio ADP surrounds using either a Rotel 1066 + 1075 set-up or a 1055 set-up in a 25’ x 20’ room.

            Q: S/N on 1055 vs 1066 ?
            by Gary Stevens
            Greetings!

I've been pondering the tradeoff between a 1066 and a 1055 and I am wondering if anyone has any info or experiences with the relative signal to noise ratios.

I believe that Andrew noted in another thread (on another forum?) that Rotel stated the S/N ratio of...

            Hi,

I was looking at some Rotel gear as an upgrade to my system. I am currently using a Marantz SR-780 to power a set of B&W CDM SE speakers (7's, 1's and a C). I've read that B&W's are notoriously hard to power and that Rotel amplifiers are recommended. I've never owned any Rotel...

Can anyone make a case for the RSP-1066
            by jDUB
            Hi All,

I have settled on getting a Rotel for my next processor. After following the threads closely, I have seen many talk about the RSX-1055 being the same as the RSP-1066. Can anyone make a case for buying the 1066 over the 1055??? For me, it is not a amp issue. I have enough amps...
