1098 PLII - X Sound Steering Issues

Lately I have been noticing my 1098 when playing Dolby PLII sources (TV, DVD) that the steering of the centre will wander over to the mains and surrounds breifly (.5-1 sec) every now and then. Or at least that s what it sounds like. The dialog audio will just quickly output into the surrounds, and then just as quickly return to normal.

Anybody else experience this?

I tried switching between the Optical and Coaxial input, selecting PL-M PL-C, but the glitch still persists.

Does it do that with a stable audio feed like a DVD in 2 channel mode or a VHS tape? I'm wondering if its just the audio signal that's switching between mono and stereo that's giveing you grief. I've notice similar quirks with poor quality audio feeds from my dish.

Most times its noticable during the start up features or previews of a DVD movie.

I really noticed it last night when we watched a new Charlie Brown DVD that is Dolby Digital Stereo only

I've noticed that also during the previews/advertising. My 1098 does a lot of switching going from one preview to the next, as I have my default set for PLIIx.

I sort of treat that like my car, I ignore all extraneous noises and misbehavior from the engine for the first 10 min as it warms up....LOL
