NHT,
Do you have a 5.1 system or is it set to 5.1?
If you only have a 5.1 system and are playing a 5.1 source like DD 5.1 or DTS 5.1 then XS or Prologic IIx processing on the 6th or 7th channel are not available or shown as you do not have the speakers to use them.

Im sorry. What do you mean by do I have a 5.1 system or is it set to 5.1? The reason Im asking is that about 2 weeks ago, I was able to change to DD+xs and pIIx, etc. But now Im not able to and I dont know what settings I changed that disabled me from changing it.- Bottom

The setting you changed (correctly) is to turn both center rear outputs off. Anything above regular PLII and DD/DTS is not available running 5.1.Originally posted by NHTIm sorry. If for some reason you have always had the two center rears disabled, be glad that your pre-amp is now working correctly!

If the only change is going to be the HDMI, and not a change in surround mode (DD, DTS or something new) then I will buy it. Or...-

Breakup modes refer to the resonant behavior or vibrations that occur when the diaphragm or cone of a loudspeaker driver starts to deform and produce undesirable sound artifacts at certain frequencies. Such resonances can be caused by various factors including the inherent stiffness and mass of the diaphragm, its shape, and the material(s) used. Breakup modes typically manifest as peaks and dips in the frequency response of the driver, indicating that certain frequencies...-

by newguy987Dolby and Dts have announced their new surround modes. They are Dolby PrologicIIz (9.1), and Dts Neo X (11.1). Which once again means to benefit from these modes (when ever they become available), one must again upgrade either the receiver, or processor, and more speakers, arrgh!! I myself am getting...-
