Musical Fidelity X-can V8 and psu

yesterday had the lovely musical fidelity x-can v8 turn up, along with psu. this is a hybrid unit running a pair of 6922 valves.

this thing is smooth and effortless. you seem to be able to just turn the knob on this thing up and not know where to back off. still a lovely balance of smoothness and yet with all the detail and richness to its sound. I've always been a fan of the musical fidelity headphone amps, owning a x-can v3 previously. but this is better again. seems a really nice match with the sennheiser hd700

        Hi all,

I am in the process of "attempting" to build a X-psu for the x-10 v3. I know the psu type is a 12-0-12. The standard wallwart plugpack is rated at 500ma. I have been able to get my hands on a toroidal transformer rated at 160VA with two 12v secondaries (over 6 amps...

Sound was great, but the components just didn't like me. I ran into many problems:

        1. X-ray wouldn't connect optically to the x-dac using certain cables. the only ones that would...

        Musical Fidelity M8 500S
        by alebonau
It would appear, that musical fidelity has listened and for those looking for a stereo amp in the M8 series can now consider the M8 500s. no doubt a stereo power amp in similar ilk to the m6 500i but a stereo power amp for those that thought the m8 700 was a bit too much
