    Side speakers for MC-1

    Hello,

Just got my MC-1 a few days ago, and was wondering what kind of side speakers would be appropriate. Its use will be 50 music 50 movies. I currently have B&W 804s in front, HTM1 center, 805s in the rear, and 601s2s on the side. Im considering of putting Bipolar or dipolar on the side and would appreciate any info.
    Thanks in advance,

    Rob

    Hi Rob,
First, Congratulations! You'll have a lot of fun with the MC-1.

Generally I recommend dipole sides (stick with B&W) if you are pretty into film sound. Unless the side wall are far away (more then, say, 10 feet from the listening position), direct radiators are two "present" you'll notice them and it will be a distraction for film sound.

      Hey Rob,
Very nice setup you have there! I see you're in Joliet, I'm located in Romeoville. Where did you get your gear from? I'm actually looking at upgrading to either the MC-1 or the B&K Reference 30. Good to see someone on here from the area.

        Hi Dennis,
        Thanks for the compliment!
I bought my gear at a place called "Sound & Vision" In Orland Park located on 14474 S. LaGrange RD. Very nice and helpful salespeople.
        Good luck on your upgrades!

        Rob

Last week, I sold my MC1 and one of my Citation 5.1 amps. My 2nd 5.1 amp is going to a friend later this month. I am replacing this wonderful combo with: DC1 version 4.0, Rogue Magnum 66 tube preamp with HT unity gain bypass, Parasound 2200II 250x2 amp, and Parasound 1205A 140x5 amp. For just a couple...

CC3 or MC1 for Center Channel?
          by mdrake
I am going to purchase my center channel in the next couple of weeks. I was going to order the CC3 but I am wondering if I should order the MC1's and use them as a center as the image below shows? The logic behind the MC1 centers is so that the center and mains match perfectly. But then again the CC3...

I am new here. I have read some very knowledgeable posters here and thought this is where I may get some help.

I recently bought a Lexicon MC1, then I found an Audiolab 8000M and three units of 8000P. My question is would these Amps work well with the MC1 and how should the set up be,...

          Aragon Soundstage vs Lexicon MC1/RogueMagnum66
          by Ricky
I listened to the Aragon Soundstage with Smart Devices Junior 6.1 expanding yesterday for a few hours yesterday. Sound is crystal clear like others said. Subwoofer bass is very good and powerful, but so was the MC1's. DPL1 is kinda of weak, but the Hall mode is good for DSS, and sends stereo signals...
