DTC-9.4: How do I restore factory settings?

My dad was over and accidentally hit some button(s) on my husband's DTC-9.4, and now I don't know how to fix it.

I can't get a feed - the TiVo is working (I see the TiVo menus, and it is still recording shows), but the only thing on the TV is a black screen. I can watch shows previously recorded, DVDs, listen to CDs, etc., just fine.

The screen on the receiver reads "Video 1" "Direct" and "Analog". Any clue how I can either fix this or restore the factory settings?

    I appreciate your help!

On page 93 of the instruction manual, it states:
To reset the surround mode and other settings to the factory
default settings, wait for more than 30 seconds after turning on
the power, then hold down the Video 1 button and press the
Standby/On button. “CLEAR” appears in the front display and
the DTC-9.4 enters the standby state.
Give that a try. Hopefully that will restore the relevant default settings which will return your DTC-9.4 to your expected operating state.

    Good luck!

      TiVo, An Early Adopter's Tale
      by Lexman
Folks, it's been maybe 8-10 months since TiVo was introduced, on the heals of Replay TV. At least Replay was advertised as " Coming" , some time before I had heard of TiVo. Actually, I think the first I heard of TiVo, was the night I bought mine. How's that for a spontaneous...

Anyone know exactly how this clicking back to a point in time works on XP? AS I understand it, you can set it back to the prior day, or two days etc... and restore any files that were deleted unless the file space was written over since then, maybe it's protected anyway. I hope her settings were such...

      My TIVO Upgrade - It's A Snap!!!
      by David Meek
I've been kicking around the idea of adding more capacity to my 2-year-old TIVO for several months. I finally broke down and ordered an upgrade kit for my HDR31203 model from Weaknees. At $179 including shipping, I got a 120 Gbyte hard drive, a mounting bracket, the necessary nuts 'n bolts and a Torx...

TiVo making a comeback at my house!

I decided to switch things up with TV. I'm diversifying so to speak. I'll have some DirecTV, and same cable. I cut my Directv package down to the lowest available, and kept Showtime. I'm saving approximately $70.00 a month on it by only turning HBO off, and loosing a bunch of nothing channels I...

RSX-1057 somehow reset to factory settings??
      by windmiller
My wife woke me up last night around 10:00pm talking about the receiver is acting weird.

After looking at it, it looks like it might have gone back to the default factory settings!

I am stunned and don't want to think about the time spent setting it up.
