Help with programing SR 10.1 and REF 50 S2

I am having trouble programming both my SR 10.1 remote and my REF 50 S2. I can download and open the software to program the remote but I keep getting an error that my cable is defective or I have selected the wrong com port. I have gone through all of the com port settings with no success. I am using a laptop with a serial port to USB converter. I purchased another converter and I am still getting the same error message. Can anyone help me?

I am using a HP Pavilion laptop running Windows Me. I have plenty of disk space and 1 gig of ram.

Now with the BKc Suite. I can download it and unzip it but I cannot get it to run. B&K said it might be a conflict with Windows Me. Can anyone help me?

Mike I had the same problem using an adapter. You might want use a pc with a serial port, it was fast and easy. I ended up buying a cheap pc for that purpose only and it came in handy for a few other things.

    Good luck

RSP-1066 front channel to Classé CAP-101

I’m trying to use my Classé CAP-101 integrated amplifier to drive the front channels for RSP-1066. I’ve connected the front L and R pre-outs from RSP-1066 to an input in CAP-101, but I can not ear any sound (even with the volume in RSP-1066...

      Port

A loudspeaker port, also known as a bass reflex port, vented enclosure, or ported enclosure, is a design feature used in loudspeakers and subwoofers to improve their low-frequency performance. It operates based on the principles of Helmholtz resonance. In a typical loudspeaker, when the speaker cone moves back and forth, it generates both front and rear sound waves. The front sound wave radiates into the room and produces the desired sound output, while the rear sound wave travels...

After demoing various amplifiers over the past year, I made the decision to upgrade to the NuForce Ref 9's, which were delivered this past Friday. I thought that I would post my initial impressions as this product is rather new and has been the subject of some interesting responses on the two existing...

The Ref is coming to DVD
      by Chris D
Just got an E-mail today from Amazon.com that The Ref is being released on DVD. This is a great comedy starring Dennis Leary and Kevin Spacey, showing very well what small petty interactions can happen in a marriage. I highly recommend it!
