    Center channel problem

I recently purchased the B&K AVR507S2 and I'm having problems with the center channel. I play DVDA and SACD's 90% of the time using 5 speakers but on some, the main voice out of the center channel sounds far away, like in a cave. I take the level up just on center channel and the voice is in a bigger cave. James Taylor is a good example. Most of the artists sound great from the center channel although I believe that some of my CD's are weak using different player/center channel only of course. I've checked and triple checked all my connections, and of course my DVD settings, with no improvement. My center channel used to have a nice zip to it on my Pioneer Elite'. I'm doing something wrong but I don't know what. The 507 otherwise sounds terrific.
    Help!

Sounds like it's on a wrong DSP setting. Have you tried flipping through the different settings?

Is your DVD set to "Bitstrem" not PCM?

Make sure you are using Center front not center back (If that recvr. is 6.1)

      Loss of center channel (RSX-1055)
      by rotel&energy
Recently, I've had some problems with the center channel of my
RSX-1055 (completely up-to-date firmware). When I run a test tone through each speaker in my system (5.1), all of the speakers sound normal except the center channel. I have to raise the volume on the 1055 to 70+ in order to hear...

Steve's been bugging me for a center channel design...
      by JonMarsh
Sometimes I wonder if developing another center channel design is a bit like doing another 6-1/2" two way- as I think Dennis Murphy said once, another 6-1/2' two way is not going to be a ground breaking concept...

But it can be made interesting... (but that's a different day and a...

      Question about Center Channel
      by spykids777
      Hi,

I recently purchased the 803D speakers as my main. I also purchased the HTM4d as my center channel. I was told by the B&W technical people that those two should "timber match". Also the other reason why I purchased the HTM4d is because it sits on a 11" deep mantle....

Living with and without a center channel
      by csuzor
I have finally sold my HTM7. I found myself listening to its boxiness, its inability to reproduce the clarity of the 703, instead of just enjoying a movie or the music. It had to go.

Now, without a center speaker, watching a movie is terrible. The sound is very inaccurate, the phantom...
