There is ALWAYS something better. His reasons could be that he needs more money or that he has more money to spend :B

My problem with the HALO is that the blue glowing halo now got me convinced that I need a pair of JC1:s :lol:

Oh, well, I STILL would have preferred to have it all back in black... HALO is just a perfect example that you can't get it all

Dunno about that. I've only seen Bryston in silver...

I was thinking more like the Classic series. (Which is probably exactly why they don't do it black... HALO=silver, CLASSIC=black).

The Halo is a beautiful piece...but there has always been (for me) only one other SSP that I ever thought about replacing it with. This week I got a chance to get a balanced Lexicon MC-12 for a very reasonable price, locally, from an old friend. While I love the functionality and flexibilty of the MC-12, I'm witholding judgement on SQ comparisons until I get this thing dialed in. I can say that at this point, the Halo holds its own very well.

Exactly, Nich. If it wasn't for the price, or the fact that the seller was actually an old friend, I never would've got it. I'll be testing the MC-12 for a few weeks, and keep an eye on what upgrades Parasound offers for the Halo. Who knows...Parasounds offerings may be too hard to resist

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Parasound will come through with some pretty substantial upgrades.

BTW, if anyone is curious, the new Denon DVD-3910 in silver is a pretty good match for the Halo stuff. Too bad you can't get Xbox in silver!
