I have a A-23 and a A-52 connected to a Anthem AVM20 pre/pro driving Klipsch RF-35 series speakers. The A-23 is just under 90 days old and lately I have noticed that one side of the amp may run much hotter than the other some times and at other times both sides are the same temp. Today I picked up a demo amp to compare and found that the same thing happens, but this time it was the opposite side that runs cooler. I switched the interconnect cables (XLR) and L/R mains thinking it was a bad cable or speaker but no change. SPL levels remain the same from both sides (channels) of the amp no matter if hot or cool. I'm stumped! Any suggestions or anyone else experience this? Thanks.

bugsy i have the a23 the left hand side runs hotter than the right hand side ,even if just powered up and not running, not sure if this is normal to the a23 my unit was the one homecinema choice used in there review, mine is on top of rack
was told by one dealer it may be that one speaker cable (left) was longer than the right hand side, in reality i have used the a23 for 6-7 hours constantly running in sterio driving dynaudio 62 4ohms 86 sens without any problems.- Bottom

Thanks for your response..so we know there are at least 3 A23 amp's in the known universe exhibiting this anomaly. From the lack of response here I'd say all the other A23's do not. FWIW I have emailed Parasound regarding this issue and will PM you whatever respone I get. I plan on exchanging my amp for another new one tomorrow. cheers.- Bottom

hi keenan i recieved reply from parasound re heat query the reply was if one side runs slightly hotter than the other this is considered normal, if one side is considerably hotter than other it is not , was suggested i swop round i/c cables and speaker cables to see if the opposite side of amp gets warmer , it also could indicate a problem with preamp or a speaker ,- Bottom

Got my new A23 5 days ago, found it ran hot on the right side and cool on the left. Spoke to a Parasound tech who stated there is a bias problem with some amps. On the second evening I turned the system on to a loud screeching noise from my mains (driven by the A23). Hooked back up in 5.1 mode via the A52 and all is well, took the defective A23 back for a full refund and bought a new Anthem PVA2 for the rears. The A52 has worked perfectly since I have had it..all 3 A23's I have tried at home have been defective. My dealer has returned several, including my two, to Parasound. No more A23 amps for me.- Bottom

by VictorHRSHi there Halo and Parasound Club members! This is just my second thread in this forum. I have appreciated it for a long time, but just as an observer. As you can see, I live in Brasil, which is not a good place to live if you like high quality audio. Everything is very expensive due to import taxes,...-

by AudiognosticI'm building a 2.1 system from scratch and recently picked up an A23 Demo. I was looking to add a matched P3, when I realized it has no bass management. Does anyone on this forum have experience using this combo with a subwoofer? How did you set it up, and how did you like the results? From what...-

by MichiganMikeSomeone posted on Audiogon.com that they experienced improved sound when connecting both balanced and unbalanced cables to input a Parasound A21 amp. I have a Parasound C2 preamp processor normally connected to a Parasound A23 amp using balanced cables in a 2 channel system. Since I had a spare set...-
