How much top space is needed for A51?

I'm thinking about buying an A51 but I'm not certain it would fit in my equipment rack. The manual calls for 6" of clearance on top, and from my measurements I think I could only give it about 2". Is that really bad? It's an open rack, with plenty of space on sides and back.

    Any help appreciated

Since you have an open rack with adequate ventilation on the sides and in rear, I think it'll be just fine for dissapating heat. If you want to be extra safe, positioning a small fan somewhere behind the rack, or buying small computer fans and installing them in the rack, might be an option you'd want to consider.

I would buy a bigger audio rack. If the manual says you need 6" clearance, you want to get as close to 6" as possible. Yes, the amp generates enough heat and you don't want to spoil it or other equipments above it.

2" is not enough, that's for sure because the A51 is producing a lot heat. Make sure you have at least 6" like parasound said. Try a spider rack from Finite Elemente if your budget allows that .

Rotel RMB-1095 and heat dissipation / required free space
            by nvdeynde
            Hi,

I'm considering buying a Rotel RMB 1095 power amplifier.
I'm just concerned that I don't have enough free space in my rack to dissipate the heat that the amplifier generates.

I have an open Sonus Elite Rack, on all 4 sides there's plentyu of open space left,...

            1095 and heat.

I have my 1095 on the very top of my rack and had some heat issues. The amp would go into protection pretty easily.

What I did was put a couple of 6" computer fans on top and tied them into a rely and a 12v trigger. This has deduced the heat significantly!

            I am guessing...

            Halo A51

How are most of you handling the heat issue with Halo amps? I went to a dealer the other day and he had two JC1 monoblocks sitting on the floor wide open with nothing obstructing the back top or sides. They were powered on but had no signal and nothing was playing. They were hotter then hell!I could...

            Rack mount opinions
            by MarkStega
I have a C2/A51 combo on order. I intend to place these units in my MidAtlantic 60"/35U rack. What are opinions for heat control/placement of components?

Am I best off putting the A51 as high as possible in the rack or would it be better to place it at the bottom (say, up two units,...

            Parasound A51 question
            by Peter Nielsen
Easy question for you A51 owners: How deep is the A51 when *not* including the heat sink fins or handles on the back panel? (Alternatively, how much does the heat sink and handles stick out on the back?)

I'm trying to figure out if the unit will fit in my rack with XLR connectors or if...
