Hmm... I do recall one magazine review saying that they had applied several updates already, (I think it was software) but I haven't heard of anything to be released. this is most definitely one to ask Parasound about. Are you most interested in software updates, firmware, or hardware?

i'm not exactly sure what the difference between software and firmware are, but i remember talking to tim from parasound and he said the latest release of software for the C1/C2 was 6.42. However, I checked my software by holding down the power button on the front panel, and it said 6.49.- Bottom

I also checked with Parasound and was told 6.42 was the latest yet mine C2 also has 6.49????
This is very strange indeed and could explain some of the issues.
I hope they have some easy to use software to flash the units like Rotel has.
It would suck if you had to use some scripting program...- Bottom

Strange. I just powered up my replacement C1 that arrived this past week, which is supposed to be new. It has version 6.42, with a build date of 15 March 2003, but if you guys are saying 6.49 is out there, I wonder.

My C2 have version 6.37. And, it is my secund one (my first one have the pre-may 03 problem...).
Receive it as remplacement 3 month ago...
I'm a bit disappointed that Parasound didn't flash my one with the last version.
It is time for them to give a possibility to update the C1/C2, and I hope they will also explain what is the difference between the different versions, to be sure if it is really necessary to upgrade.
On another point, I happy to join your forum. I felt a bit alone with my C2 in France. Parasound is not very known here!- Bottom

Really? Even though Parasound is based in San Francisco and the C1/C2 units are made in Taiwan, they're still designed by Flextronics in Finland. Nevertheless, even if nobody has heard of it, they will know it is a serious piece of equipment once they see it, and once they HEAR it...your friends might want to buy some of their own.- Bottom
