Halo A-23

I am considering Purchasing an A-23 and initially using my Pioneer Elite 49 TXi as a pre/pro. I realize that in an ideal world I would match the amp with a Parasound Pre and use balanced inputs but not possible right now. What I'm wonderring is,has anyone here used a Pioneer Elite as a pre?


Any insights would be greatly apprieciated.

What's to say? Unless someone has used this exact combination, one can only say the obvious and you have already stated that.

I would suggest auditioning an A23 if possible... That will answer your question. Not sure if the is anywhere in Peterborough to audition. Closest I know of is in Markham.

I have not heard the A23, but I have spent a few hours with the A21 about 18 months ago. It seemed fine enough. At that time I ended up getting a Chord amp.

I bought the A23 and also bought the Pioneer LX73 Receiver and I did not like the sound from the pioneer as a 2ch pre-pro, so now I have a Onkyo Receiver and it does make a difference.

My two cents Buy a Parasound A23 and then a Parasound pre-pro later on.
