In the manual it says to keep the gain clockwise so its out of the circuit but when i go clockwise it gets to loud and when I have them turned off the other way to 0 it sounds like the gain is taken out. which is the right way all the way to the left or right for taking them out of the circuit?

thanks for the reply the only thing is when it is all the way to the right Im lucky to hit 930 on the volume dial and found with them all the way to the left its a little more tame but missing some magic then. Trade off I guess and would have to blame my CD player Cyrus 8SE- Bottom

9:30 sounds about right. That's the way it was with my 80's Technics SU-A200 & SE-A100 combo too. Perfectly normal.Originally posted by Mike_Schmidtthanks for the reply the only thing is when it is all the way to the right Im lucky to hit 930 on the volume dial and found with them all the way to the left its a little more tame but missing some magic then. This article will describe the fruits of my efforts to build a moderate sized speaker which might be moderately above average in performance for a basic two-way system. I desired a speaker like this both for my own use in secondary systems, and to fill a need for some friends, who desired fairly full range response (i.e., “it’s gotta have good bass”). Also, though I have access to a good wood shop, many potential DIY enthusiasts may not, so I hoped to use a modified...-

by augerproI was looking at building a simple gain circuit for use in a biamped 3way to to match the woofer level with the mid/tweet due to baffle step. The rest of the XO would be passive. So a active/passive hybrid. This circuit would be placed between the preamp and the amp. So I check Linkwitz's site and found...-

I have been living with my dipole 3-way system for a while now and it does sound good to me. I did post pictures a while ago. Each channel of my system consist of an RD-75 in its own baffle (400 Hz and up), 4 units of Scan Speak 25W58565 in a narrow 14-inch baffle (70-400 Hz)...-
