Older Hca series against the Halo or other

    Hi all

long time since my last visit ops:
I have been thinking to upgrade my 2 channel
and use a seperate amp for music.
So now i´m looking for a new amp and i have been looking at
the old Hca series 2200mk2 and the Hca 3500 and the new halo series
    A21 and Jc 1 .
I have aslo open some doors to a tube amp or a hybrid amp..
But my question is how is the old Hca series compare to the Halo series,
i dosent want to lose/same any sound on the 2 channel front i want to win some more
Any ideas from you all here ?

I will not replace my hca-2205, i will use it in a 7 channel sound later when
    time will come

    Hi,

I would not consider any of the old amps since they stopped production more than 5 years ago. As amps age, the capacitors dry out...

The A21 and JC1s are of course excellent choices. They both improve upon the HCA amps. What speakers are you going to use with the amp?

Those Jamos are fairly efficient. I would say that the A21 is more than enough for them. Going with the JC1s is probably overkill...

i didint know that the capacitors dry out
and how long time take it?
Ok a Jc1 is maybe to much to those speakers but its
more easy to get new electronics who last long time
then to get new speakers, my room is the limit

Buying new HCA-1500a. Halo internals-no bling
            by schafari
Well, I am just about to buy my second HCA-1500a. I have about $1k set aside for one of my room's amps, and I can't see going to the Halo A23, as it would be a step down. Perhaps to some, not visualy, but sonically, I can't imagine the A23 besting the 1500a, especially with Martin Logan Aerius i's....

Parasound (HCA Series) vs ATI vs Parasound Halo
            by audioqueso
            Hello Everyone,

Wondering if anyone can comment on any of the matches in the title. My main speakers are B&W 805's matched with a Velodyne SPL-R 800. I've powered my B&Ws with a 2-channel HCA-1500 amp (200 watts) before, and was happy with that match. Then I moved to an HCA-1205A...

            New 3-channel Halo A 31 Amp
            by Chris D
News from CES. Kinda cool, for when you need more than an A 21, but less than an A 51. Looks like it's not just matched to the A x1 amp series in power, but more like the A 21 than the A 51 in construction.

Now where's those CD 1 players?

            Parasound HC-1205/2205 vs. Halo A52/51
            by suds1280
I am very interested in puchasing a five channel amp, and I have heard nothing but good things about Parasound, so I put it on my short list of manufacturers, along with B&K, Rotel, Anthem and Bryston. As of right now, I would like to purchase a good 5 channel amp, and I do not need more than 125...

            Parasound HCA-750A or HCA-1000A vs Halo A23?
            by sikoniko
            Currently I have a cinenova grande 5 amp (300x5) and a Sherwood/Newcastle P-965 pre/pro. I was able to get a great deal on a b&w htm2, which I plan to use in rear setting for 6.1.

My dilemma is that I do not have the power for that back speaker. The speaker is rated at 120w. In evaluating...
