I am hoping some of the experts here can answer this question for me. I have a HTPC which I use for Blue Ray and HD DVD. Of course, without HDMI inputs I can only get downsampled audio to the processor.
Now that the Asus Xonar HDAV audio card is about to come out, I am wondering about the processing on the multi-channel inputs on the C-2. My understanding is that the multi-channel inputs are sent directly to the amps. Is that correct? It seems I will need the processor to modify the signals for level and distance to get proper multi-channel playback.
I have been told the new Xonar card does not have level or distance adjustments, although it does process the HD audio formats.
