One of my JC1 has no bright blue light around the power button, but a weak red light when it is on. When it is off, the weak blue light is present as it should. Acording to the previous owner this is a weaknes to the Halo's, and there is a modificatin avaliable. Is this true or does it indicate that somthing is wrong with the amp?

Yikes, yes, a red light anywhere on a Halo unit, other than the "P" logo, indicates a problem. I've never encountered it on mine, but if you've got one, call P-sound right away.

Well, we're safe for now. Thank goodness we're in a bowling alley.

I have never heard about this as a common "weakness", and I have owned TEN (10) JC-1s. I have never seen the problem.Originally posted by AubiOne of my JC1 has no bright blue light around the power button, but a weak red light when it is on. It is not just a malfunctioning diode. As other here say, there is obviously a fault somewhere. Since the amp works, the fault is probably something simple like a bad solder joint.
In any case, you should make sure that the problem is fixed now. If you leave it like that, the problem may get worse and the amp starts to burn out parts if you're really out of luck.
The only major weakness is a flaw with Parasounds packaging: The INNER BOX must be strapped. Parasound does not do this. If this is not done, the amp may easily be damaged in shipping (especially if it is left in the hands of UPS and their 3 ft conveyor belt drops...). One of mine, and one of Jesse's amps suffered this fate, which usually results in a bashed-in rear panel.

You mean switching the standby PCBs - yes, that's a very good start!Originally posted by AubiWhat I'll do first thing tomorrow morning is to cross exhange the power button unit between the two amps. This will definetly give me the answer I'm looking for.

I hate to say it, after all the help I have had here. I was right!
I mannaged to move the problem over to the other amp by cross exhangening the power button. It,s the blue led that's i bad shape.
Right now Cohen is singing Halleluja
, and a replacement led is on the way(also from Canada).
I have sad before that I like the thrill of this, but for a while it wasn't so mutch fun. Now it is :T- Bottom

That's weird... Why do you have red light when the amp is on? Even if the blue led is broken, there should be no light from the red led...Originally posted by AubiIt,s the blue led that's i bad shape.

It's weird yes. The two red leds are on and in "dim" whenever there is power to the amp. They "bright" up during the power up sequence and when it goes to protection mode.Originally posted by Peter NielsenThat's weird... Why do you have red light when the amp is on? by sirbogeySetup since yesterday: RSP-1098, RMB-1075, and RDV-1060 with catcables (just received, they are awesome); 2 fronts, 2 rears, 1 center, 1 sub (all speakers are Piega). I installed the most recent upgrade on the 1098 as well and then set to default settings.
Cables are definitely connected...-

by pchanjHi,
I was wondering whether someone has experienced anything like this. Just a few weeks ago, after watching a movie. I turned off my amplifier RMB 1075 and heard a loud pop. I cannot really tell if it came from the amp or speaker, but one thing I noticed though was that the protection light...-

I searched the manual but only found that pressing MENU will turn off display- not the light. (It's very bright in dark room)-
