Blue ring on power button- Dim?

Is there anyway to Dim the blue ring light around the front power button.
I searched the manual but only found that pressing MENU will turn off display- not the light. (It's very bright in dark room)

I think Rotel had some stick on plastic rings (yes, seriously) to dim it. You could try calling customer support and see if they still have any

You could take the thing apart and install a higher-value resistor in series with the power LED... but it's probably easier just to find or make a darkening ring.

Yes they have rings, and they are not much bigger then the light it self. It helps dim them a lot, they will no longer be flashlights. They're not hard plastic, but a plastic/vinyl sticker. You would never notice it unless someone pointed it out.

Should be able to call or email Rotel (or your dealer) and get some on the way. I believe they are free upon request.

          Kev,
          thanks for chiming in...
I also was curious about these.
          they came with my 1575.

do they COMPLETELY block off the LED, or just tame it a bit? edges?
I'd like to know the amp's on. But I don't want it blaring in my face.
just thought I'd ask before I apply it myself..

          much thanks,
          L

Just tamed. It's still very easy to tell if it's on or not. I lost one of mine in the mail and haven't even thought about it in a while. I'll grab a picture to show the difference.

              SSP-600 button O-ring replacement
              by kpodolski
The O-rings on my "Stand-by - Menu - Mute" buttons were dry-rotted. Takes a little time but not too difficult to change.

The power supply, the smaller transformer and a smaller board all needed to be removed (the parts outlined in blue). They need to be removed in order to make...

RT-1080 tuner - display is too dim
              by kneptune
I just traded in an early version of the current RT-1080 tuner (was black version) for a newer silver version of the 1080 tuner (had to make it match the silver RSP-1098 - for the all important WAF).

As per the RT-1080 owner's manual addendum, the newer 1080's display now functions slightly...

How many of you would pay extra if the ring around the volume control truly lit up?
              by Danbry39
Quite a few times, I've heard people frustrated that the blue ring around the volume control on Rotels doesn't light up, as it seems to in ads.

Let''s say that Rotel would have to up the price per unit $30 or so dollars, would it be worth it to you to have the blue ring of light around...

              Volume Ring LED
              by Rock Dog
I picked up my RSP-1066s today. (I have to wait for my 1095s )

I read the manual and plugged it in when I got home. The first thing I noticed was that the LED ring around the volume control was not lit. I know the black unit is supposed to have red, and the silver, blue. Am I missing...

              Room darkening blinds
              by Lex
Yesterday I picked up some Levolor "Cellular" blinds. I'm not going to call them mini blinds, because that would imply they have blades. I suppose from a distance, you might think they were mini blinds, but in reality, they are sort of an accordian like composite paperish material on the exterior....
