This was pretty much just released, so I doubt anyone has it yet. Audio Advisor just got it listed for the first time at $599

This is a new press release from Parasound:

Parasound Delivers a High-End Stereo Preamplifier that Plays Well with Custom Installers

      Parasound Model 2100 Preamplifier.

SAN FRANCISCO (7/24/07) -- Parasound has introduced the precision Model 2100 stereo preamplifier in its high-value NewClassic series of components for custom installation. In keeping with Parasound's 26-year reputation for delivering high quality and problem-solving gear at high-value prices, the Model 2100 also offers a unique solution that enables audiophiles to add high-quality stereo reproduction to their existing or planned home theater without compromising performance for either music or movies.

The Model 2100 is first and foremost an audiophile-grade stereo preamplifier, featuring a high-current power supply and low-noise circuit topology for optimal signal path integrity. It includes seven line-level inputs, one of which can be switched to a phono input with correct gain and load impedance for both MM and MC phono cartridges. Additionally, it features a front-panel input jack for MP3 players with an automatic 12dB gain offset to match the volume level of an iPod with other source components.

The Model 2100 includes analog bass management and uniquely creates a sub out channel with a low pass filter that is continuously adjustable from 40 Hz – 140 Hz and a front panel gain control. There are 2 sub out jacks for the sub channel. It also offers both full range output jacks and separate jacks for frequencies > 80 Hz to facilitate using a sub-sat speaker system.

The Model 2100 is also uniquely suited to integrate with home theater and multi-room audio systems thanks to its innovative Bypass Input, which connects directly to the L, R and Sub pre-out jacks on a surround receiver or processor.

For stereo reproduction, two channel sources are connected to the Model 2100 inputs, to completely isolate them from the A/V receiver for optimal signal integrity. When the system is used for multichannel music or home theater, however, the Model 2100 can be swiched to pass the AV receiver's L, R and subwoofer pre outputs directly through to the power amplifier's inputs. Bypass can be selected manually and is automatically in effect when the Model 2100 is powered off.

The NewClassic Model 2100 includes a number of useful features designed to simplify integration in large systems and custom installations, such as full remote control, two-way RS-232, discrete IR codes for power on and off and IR input and loop out jacks for jack for use with IR repeater systems. The unit includes optional automatic turn-on for either AC power or 12-volt trigger input with both 12-volt trigger input and output jacks.

The Model 2100 front panel includes a precision motorized rotary volume control and its tone controls can be defeated with a front-panel button or by remote.

The Parasound Model 2100 preamplifier is rack-mountable with the company's optional RMK22 2u mounting kit. It is currently available at a suggested retail price of $600.

Founded in 1981, Parasound Products, Inc., is a privately owned U.S. company that specializes in providing affordable audio and home theater components to the critical listener. Parasound's products are available from quality audio/video retailers, and select custom installation specialists. For more information, visit www.parasound.com or call 415-397-7100.

As always, it has already been reviewed in the Norwegian magazine "Fidelety".
The conclusion was that this was an excellent product.

I'm one of the AV123'r that bought one. In a word, or three... I love it.

I am currently using it in a 2.0 setup and not using the HT bypass feature, so I cannot comment on those aspects. I may add a sub later on. But overall, it does exactly as advertised and the SQ is VG IMO. I love the simplicity of an analog pre-amp, built in phono and the sub out(even though I don't use it yet).

Having separate 2 ch and HT systems just makes life so much easier IMO and the 2100 works very well. Ya can't beat the price too :T

Thanks Chris, I received it on Saturday. It is playing non stop. The amp is very neutral every change I make in my stereo setup is audible. I’m extremely pleased with the this simple (cheap) pre amp. I listened to couple of my cd´s with my eyes closed, and I could not hear the location of my speakers. The stereo image is very good, great depth and width.
I also still like my 7100, to bad that there is no new Parasound ht processor for in the near future.

                            Eduard

I am thinking about upgrading my stereo preamp. Right now I have a Parasound NC 2100 that I really like feature wise but if I was up upgrade, which would be a better replacement. I am already a fan of Rotel but am fast becoming a fan of Parasound as well. I have a Rotel 1050 amp but am considering upgrading...

I have a Parasound 2100 Preamp with a Parasound A23 amp driving Salk SongTower speakers in a two channel system. This system does not sound as engaging for music as I had hoped. My home theater system which uses a Parasound C2 with a Parasound A21 amp and Von Schweikert VR4 JR is a significant improvement...
