    Turn on A23 automatically

    HI all.......

    I'm new here.

I have my superb P3 and A23 separates since a couple of months ago and I have never been able to figure my little problem out:

I want to turn on the A23 automatically as soon as I turn on the P3 via the remote control. There's should be a switch on the back to do this....correct?

    Problem is...it does not work.
    Am I missing something?

I have the P3 connected to a Squeezebox Music Player and a Toshiba HD-DVD.

    Thank you for the help!!

You need to make sure that the trigger cable is properly connected, and that the auto-turn-on switch on the A23 is in the proper position:

-Connect the trigger cable between the "12V Triggers Output" on the P3 (the trigger output is the far right small jack below the RS232 connector) and the "Auto turn on Input" on the A23 (second jack from left, next to the auto turn on selector switch).
-Make sure that the Auto Turn On selector on the A23 is in the "12V" position (all the way down).

    Hope this helps.

Yup, it's a cheap and easy fix. Just a $.50 cable, and it works great. I'd have to check and see whether the A23 and/or the P3 have a 1/16" plug, or whether it's just a standard 1/8", but you can even get these at Radio Shack if you need them.

I do think it's odd that Parasound uses the different size plugs on different equipment.

Yes, I'll never understand the logic behind that one except to frustrate everyone trying to connect trigger cables

I thought it was a great idea. It is more difficult to send a 12V signal the wrong way back into the C1/C2/P3.

Aha. I didn't think about that! (although I imagine that wouldn't cause a catastrophic problem or anything)

                    FYI, these are metric plugs; 2.5mm and 3.5mm (6/64" and 9/64"). The amplifiers ( JC1,Axx ) use 2.5mm. The C1/C2 has the 3.5mm output.

By looking at the picture of the P3, it looks like it uses a 2.5mm plug.

The A23 should have shipped with a 2.5mm <=> 2.5mm cable. That's probably what you need.

Does anyone have and use this fan? I have a question about the instructions. It seems straight forward but something is missing I think.

Under the "Front Panle Discription" reads:

"Front panel houses a switch for controlling the on/off and auto function"...

Remote C2 Turn on and Source Selection???
                      by jprafter
I recently bought a SONOS system to distribute my digital music throughout my house. Most zones have speakers directly connected to the SONOS zone players. They turn on and play by control from a wifi controller.

My Home Theater zone is a little different. I use a connection to my C2....

A 12 or 120 volt trigger for your pro amp
                      by chasw98
This is a DIY project to build a device that will automatically turn on and off your "pro" amplifier. A lot of people around here have built subwoofers powered by pro amps like Crown, QSC, and Behringer. These pro amps have no way to be turned on or off remotely by either 12VDC or 120VAC "trigger"...
